Morsels has now moved to a new location at Dempsey after five years at Mayo Street at the outskirts of Little India. The small-plates fusion concept restaurant has moved to a 1000-square feet barnyard-style house located at the peaceful Dempsey area. The charming new 40-seater restaurant features plenty of natural accents, and a relaxing casual ambience.
The restaurant is the brainchild of chef-owner Petrina Loh, who left her banking career to dive into the restaurant business. Besides favourites like Steamed Venus Clams ($24) and Charred House-poached Octopus ($26), there’ve also got a few new menu items and ideas going on. Bring along friends and family to share items like the Kasu-Cured Hiramasa Kingfish ($22) with rhubarb aioli, pickled grapes, pistachio praline and ikura; or Grilled Wild Sri-Lankan Tiger Prawns ($24), served with a chai tow kueh inspired sakura ebi daikon cake. What’s more, every order of a small plate now comes with a tasting portion of a wine pairing, recommended by chef Loh herself. They’ve also got a weekend brunch now, happening every Saturday and Sunday, starting 4 February.
For those who fancy a drink or two, Morsels also has an impressive wine and spirits program. The cellar boasts close to 50 wines, as well as 30 spirits, and a range of craft beers. Cocktails start from $12 and features house-infused spirits. For special occasions, get a seat at the reservations-only four-seater chef’s table, where you’ll be right next to the action.
Morsels is closed for Chinese New Year from 28 – 31 January
