Buffets in Singapore: Eat your fill of lobster at Melt Café’s Lobster Bonanza

7 years ago by Weets Goh

Once considered a peasant’s meal, the lobster is one of the most prized ingredients today. For a crustacean-packed feast, head down to Melt Café‘s Lobster Bonanza, where they’re serving it all ways at their dinner buffet, including an excellent Cognac-infused lobster bisque. We popped by the restaurant to check out some of the dishes.

Lobster Laksa

Lobster makes an appearance on all their buffet stations, including their “live” noodle station, which will be serving dishes like lobster laksa. The laksa gravy was on the light side, and didn’t overpower the sweetness of the lobster.

Lobster Thermidor    lobster thermidor

No lobster dish is complete without this classic French dish. While it’s a dish usually reserved for special occasions, you can stuff yourself silly here. Melt Cafe’s addictive version comes filled with chopped lobster bits, mirepoix and a creamy sauce.

Chilli Lobster

Breaded lobster bits are topped with a piquant chilli crab sauce and served with fried mantous on the side, if this wasn’t already sinful enough. We wished there was more sauce to go around though – although this is still a dish in progress.

Cold Lobster

There’s always the undressed option for all the purists. Poached and cooled on ice, this is the best way to enjoy some of that sweet, sweet tamale.

Lobster Bonanza will go from 7 to 21 February.

Monday to Thursday: $75 per pax ; Friday to Saturday: $85 per pax ( additional $20 per person for free flow of house wines, beer and soft drinks.)
