Boasting interiors fit for a king, ATLAS is a grand all-day dining destination built with astounding intricacy and magnificent design elements, without rival. Coming from Michelin-starred kitchens of London, Chicago and Tokyo, Executive Chef Daniele Sperindio presents an elegant selection of modern European dishes inspired by the glamour and romance of the Golden Age era.
The white pekin duckbreast, green lentils, homemade ricotta, pedro ximenez and black currant sauce was extremely tender. Although we weren’t brazen enough to give the duck heart a go, the dish is clearly a must-try, with the all contrasting flavours not overwhelming that of the duck meat.
A definite standout on the menu, the smoky beef puffs, pickled mustard seeds … on the bone is the perfect option for sharing. Served on an actual cow bone, it is spiced and flavoured to perfection, with the mustard seeds adding a unique texture to the already well-thought-out dish.
The Mayura wagyu beef knuckle steak, friggitelli peppers, glazed borretane onions was cooked to perfection, and it wasn’t at all tough. Instead, the steak was moist and tender, and will leave you going for seconds (and thirds).
We also tried the burnt edges of the margherita, olive tapenade, and basil, which left a pleasant aftertaste, especially since it was charred perfectly.
For dessert, the highlight was the Crêpes mille-feuille, strawberries two ways, milk crisp, whose overall texture almost resembled pancakes. It wasn’t exceedingly sweet and instead, rounded up the meal really well, although we all know there’s always room for dessert, even after such wholesome mains and appetisers.
Food aside, ATLAS is world-renowned for their gin collection, housing more than 1,000 gins in total. Many have been personally contributed by their distillers and come with a history worth downing. A ladder leads to the more difficult to reach gins, making your imbibe all the more edgy. A spectacle in itself, ATLAS is superb for whiling away your nights and spoiling yourself with the finest.
