You can dine in with the Executive Chef Sherwin Sim as he constructs Lawry’s Valentine’s 5-course set menu right in front of you. Be dazzled by his cooking theatrics as he performs his culinary skills at the very first Chef’s Table with precision and finesse. The Food Journal had the gracious opportunity to experience the ultimate Valentine’s Dinner experience in a private dining room.


The dinner begins with a starter, a treat for two. It includes the Braised USDA Wagyu Beef Cheek with Pistachio Crust, Grilled Pineapple, Balsamico Reduction, and Yellow Frisse. You can also gladly enjoy the Smoked Salmon topped with Avruga on a bed of Water Biscuit, served with Purple Cucumber Pickles. The Amuse Bouche is a bite-sized treat of the Smoked Salmon and its smooth and savory taste with the combination of the sauce sets the mood for the night’s main course.

Foie Gras

Moving on to The Perfect Duo, a Pan-fried Foie Gras with Port-Raisin Sauce, Foie Gras Macaroon with Chocolate and Almond Soil. The Foie Gras was cooked to perfection and its tenderness is satisfying enough. It was accompanied by a pairing of the Chocolate and Almond Soil Macaroon. The Macaroon had a truly unique combination of a sweet and sour aftertaste at the ending bit. If you are in for some sinking-teeth goodness, then this dish genuinely gives you that. 


The 5-course set menu also includes the Dungeness Crab Salad stuff in Conchiglioni Pasta, Herbed Crumbs, Edamame Cheese Sauce topped with Ikura and Yuzu Nameko. The oozing Edamame Cheese Sauce complements the dish with a delectable sweet and rich taste. The sauce provides with the entire dish a distinct tasting note for diners to experience. Usually, pasta sauce is what makes for a more appetizing and flavorsome dish altogether. The Edamame Cheese Sauce surely went against the odds!


The main course sets the excitement for the night. It includes the 180 grams roasted Prime Rib of Beef carved and served with US Idaho Mashed Potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, Whipped Cream Horseradish, with a choice of creamed Corn, creamed Spinach or buttered Peas.

The baked Cajun Lobster Tail with Tobiko and Hokkaido Scallop is accompanied with Pumpkin Croquette, Asparagus Spears Lobster Bisque Emulsion, Chives Bits and drizzle of Grand Marnier. 


There is also a relatively sweet ending surprise with the dessert, Manjari Chocolate, and Hazelnut Praline Mousse Dome, Raspberry Coulis served with White Truffle Ice Cream in Chocolate Shell with Flakes, Pistachio Soil and Yuzu with Flambé Meringue. The Pistachio Soil combination with the White Truffle Ice Cream makes for a sweet, crumby and savory unique taste, which you do not usually receive from your normal dessert ice cream experience.

All in all, this is an avenue for you to celebrate that something extra special together with your loved one.
