We know chilli crab will have a place in our hearts all year round, but wait ’til you see these National Day deals! Singapore is celebrating its 51st birthday this August and we’ve got the scoop on specials all around town.



Catch the fireworks while sipping champagne from this Craft-Brewery Restaurant & Lounge located at Marina Bay. And don’t miss their celebratory special from 1 August to 9 August, the “Singapore Platter” for two, which includes the chef’s interpretation of local delights, like Black vinegar roast pork and Cereal prawns with lemongrass emulsion, for $50. Pair it with their twist on the classic Singapore sling – “a potent and delicious mix of London Dry Gin, Champagne and strawberry marmalade, pineapple/cinnamon/pink pepper syrup, pomegranate and lemon juice, topped with Goji berry infused soda” for $23 a glass.

This Gastrobar is celebrating National Day from 1 August to 21 August at the Marina Bay Financial Centre outlet with an exclusive Singapore Beer Bites Platter  ($35++, 4-5pax, available after 3pm), which consists of beef satay, pork sliders with pandan brioche and sambal yoghurt, curry salt fries, black vinegar and sesame glazed chicken wings, and crab and corn cakes. Pair these unique flavours with Erwin’s take on the Singapore Sling – “a refreshing mix of Cherry brandy, Angostura bitters, fresh pomegranate juice, lime juice and sliced caramelised pineapple” for $15++ a glass.

If you’re looking for a fine meal on the day of you might want to consider Zafferano, where panoramic views of Singapore’s skyline are the backdrop to the special National Day Menu. To celebrate this joyous occasion Head Chef Marco Guccio has created a four-course set dinner of contemporary Italian dishes featuring Australian winter black truffles. Following the Hokkaido scallop ‘tartare’ appetiser, guests choose a main of oven-baked Atlantic cod or slow-cooked veal cheek, with the choice to indulge in the addition of black truffles at a supplemental $18++ per 3 grams. The National Day menu is available on 9 August from 7.30pm and priced at $108++ per person, additional $80 for wine pairing. A la carte menu is available as well.

Come to this classic steakhouse on national day and try something special from their new bar bites menu — the Sear Platter, which is normally $65, is going for only $31.85++ and includes mini crab cakes, mini prime cut steak burgers, and petite fish fillet sandwiches with marinated potatoes. The waffles are served atop a plate painted with the Singapore flag, drizzled with cassis sauce, dusted with icing sugar and garnished with berries, pistachios, red velvet cake crumbs and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Equally decadent is the shake made of red velvet and vanilla ice cream, topped with dark chocolate sauce, rainbow sprinkles, iced gem biscuits, strawberry, honeycomb, and chunks of red velvet cake.
