Despite living in Sunny Singapore for the longest time, do many of you face this problem of being a tourist in your own city? It’s akin to the longest running joke of needing a passport whilst travelling to the East of Singapore from the West or vice versa. Jokes aside, when you find yourself in a new surrounding, food & drinks are your main priority, am I right? Exploring a new place within your homeland is not only refreshing but makes you feel like you’re travelling (we feel you, Millennials & Generation Zs! This is as good as you can get to travelling. Bear with us!!). Whip out your ready-to-shoot smartphones and get your Instagram profile loaded for this is going to be a worthwhile read! 

Tipsy Cow
Fancy a quiet night of booze & grub? Tucked away in the corner of Tanjong Katong Rd, hop on over and try their Italian-fusion dishes paired with cheap booze. Yup! Cheap booze! For only $13 for a bucket of 3 Heinekens, $8.80 for a pint of Guinness or $99 for a bottle of Monkey Shoulder, it’s only wise for you to head on down. bonus for sports fans, they air footy matches too!

Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre
Don’t let the name put you off! This newly opened, double-storey, hawker centre is set to cater to the old and new with its “dual dining concept”. The first floor offering traditional hawker foods and the second, named Fareground, offering a range of “hipster” delicacies. From your carrot cakes to your beef bourguignon, you can get it all. Also, did we mention, all dishes are affordable! Whether you’re a student on a budget or a “tourist” from the other parts of Singapore, remember to hit this place when you’re in Pasir Ris!

LOTS Gourmet
Fancy name for a fancy place. Following its recent move to Civil Service Club @ Changi from Changi Garden, this much raved about restaurant has been nothing short of surprises. Paired with its beautiful nautical themed décor whilst offering some of the best Western and Australian dishes if you’re thinking of a classy date night… give this place a shot! Also, do remember to try their German beers on tap! If you like a sea view together with your food & drinks, do not give this place a miss!

Mad Nest
This one is for all you artsy folks who’re in love with Japanese, Indian and Western Cuisine. That’s right! This lovely gem located along East Coast Road has 3 kitchens!! What’s exciting is, upon entering this bistro; you will be greeted with contemporary art pieces done by local artists which are also for sale! If this isn’t amazing, we don’t know what is!
