1st of October is celebrated as International Coffee Day in recognition of the second most loved beverage of the world- Coffee! From being a quick-fix drink consumed generously to stave off sleep and fatigue, to one that is lovingly brewed and presented in different tastes and styles, coffee has come a long way globally over the past couple of decades. A major milestone in the journey of coffee has been the introduction of compact and easy to use coffee machines that can deliver your steaming cuppa or frothy latte anytime of the day in the comfort of your home.

Philips has taken this journey notches further with the launch of its series of fully automatic espresso machines or FAEM, in Singapore on International Coffee Day – coffee machines which are as intuitive as they are stylish.  The range includes the Philips 2200 Series, Philips 3100 Series, Philips 3200 Series, Philips 5000 Series and the PicoBaristo.

#Getfresh with The Philips 3200Series LatteGo Fully Automatic Espresso Machine [EP3246/70]

Philips 3200 series LatteGo fully automated espresso machine

Launched in the Singapore markets in time for the International Coffee Day, the fully automatic Philips 3200 series LatteGo is a coffee lover’s delight. It gives you 5 coffee options at the press of a button and delivers your coffee from bean to steaming cup in under 2 minutes!

The Food Journal went behind the scenes (at the Annex at House of Coffee, Chye Seng Huat Hardware) for the product launch to understand exactly what goes into making a refreshing, delicious cup of coffee and just how well does the Philips 3200 series LatteGo deliver on each front.

The Beans– The most important ingredient in your cup of coffee is the coffee bean. Freshly ground beans have an exotic aroma and flavour which is lost over time. The Philips 3200 series LatteGo allows you to grind the coffee beans freshly right before each cup. The highly innovative ceramic grinders can be customized to 12 different grind settings from coarse to ultrafine depending on the smoothness and texture you are looking for.  The added feature of Aroma Seal helps to store and preserve fresh coffee beans longer, ensuring the same freshly brewed taste in your nth cup of coffee as in your first!

The Brew – Do you like your coffee black or with milk? Are you are one of those coffee drinkers who choose their coffee based on their mood or company or both? Either ways, the Philips 3200 series LatteGo is ready to serve you with 5 great beverage options-  Espresso, Black Coffee, Americano, Cappuccino and Latte Macchiato, all at the touch a button on its interactive user interface.  You can personalize your coffee further by selecting your preferred settings for aroma strength and ratio of milk and coffee to get the consistency and texture as per your taste, also through one-touch buttons on the display panel.

The Barista – The fully automatic Philips 3200 series LatteGo plays Barista too, expertly adjusting the softness of the water and the temperature of the brew for you. It features Philips’ patented AquaClean water filter removing excess minerals from the water that can overpower the flavor of the coffee while also minimizing the need for descaling for up to 5,000 cups.  The Philips 3200 series LatteGo’s  Aroma Extract aids the optimum balance between brewing temperature and aroma extraction by maintaining the water temperature between 90 and 98°C. Another impressive feature is LatteGo’s 2 part, no-tubes milk system that calibrates the optimum temperature required for steam to form and foam milk. This optimal temperature gives the perfectly textured froth in your milk based coffee.

The After-Care – Finally, the  Philips 3200 series LatteGo is amazingly easy and convenient to clean as it has no hidden parts or tubes that could accumulate the milk and allow it to curdle and smell. The entire system can be dismantled for easy cleaning and can be cleaned in as little as 15 seconds by hand or in the dishwasher.

Philips partnered with Chye Seng Huat Hardware for its product launch in Singapore, with the PHILIPS X CSHH’S “HOUSE OF COFFEE” Experience introduced by specialty coffee pioneer PPP Coffee (formerly known as Papa Palheta). The product launch saw visitors wowed by the simple yet elegant design of the Philips 3200 series LatteGo and the ease and efficacy of its coffee making. Besides learning the mechanics of coffee making, the panel of coffee experts also weighed in on whether coffee making was an art or science- the resounding verdict was that it was”both- as the mechanics and the presentation both were equally important. And the Philips 3200 series LatteGo is ample proof that it indeed is!

The Philips and CSHH’S “House of Coffee” partnership aims to create a unique experience for coffee connoisseurs through the month of October. Coffee lovers can sign up for thematic workshops on Coffee Appreciation and Cupping and for Roasting tours at the Annex at CSHH.
